From retentivity VMS13 needs Quicktime to handle mov files. Practise you lot take Quicktime installed?

Just desire to know if VMS sixteen will handle them.

I've got a piece of work effectually I utilise due west/13, simply I'thousand tired of working effectually.

(Quicktime is not supported anymore in Win x, whether it works or not fwiw.)

QT works for me in Win10.

I'll check on VMS16 and come up back as I have to locate some mov files unless you lot have a brusque one you could upload somewhere.

Also sometimes altering the file suffix from 'mov' to 'mp4' tricks software. Have y'all tried that?

You're right, sometimes irresolute the extension does works.
I'm using handbrake to catechumen files now and that does work.

Only I'd like it if the program I'm using would import people's phone videos reliably without workaround
Only want to eliminate a time consuming thing to practise.

I found some iPhone mov files from a few years agone and VMS16 opens them as follows:

I presume qt7plug.dll is a Vegas plug-in but I cannot be sure as I take QT installed. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will pass by and comment.

QuickTime 32-fleck 7.six for Windows, the last-produced version, tin notwithstanding exist downloaded and works with Motion-picture show Studio thirteen. It hasn't been adult or updated past Apple in eleven years.

I was afraid to because I was worried about interfering with my current install, but I'll try information technology on a slowish laptop I have. The laptop won't process a bunch of tracks at once, but it doesn't need to. All I need to exercise is run across if information technology opens the .mov's. Thanks for the "push off the cliff"!

I don't take QT on my system.

VSDC video editor open mov files only fine, also the freeware Shotcut editor open mov files.

I have no thought how it's done.

Information technology was advised to "False" it's setting for better VMS stability, equally I hardly use mov that'southward what I did.

But... At present that yous asked me to cheque I did, and what I plant that enable it will read few mov's but not all that I have. Some will pop and ask for QT to be installed.
